Land Rover introduces the new Defender Vertex alongside styling, technology and powertrain updates across the Defender range.

Six years after the current-generation Defender made its debut, Land Rover has given its off-roader another round of updates, led by the introduction of the new design-focused Defender Vertex.

The new Vertex brings a more distinctive appearance to the Defender range, with revised front and rear bumpers, a larger grille, body-coloured lower cladding, a gloss black tailgate spoiler, and contrasting yellow brake calipers and exposed recovery eyes. New 22-inch alloy wheels and a new Forged Textile interior material further set it apart from the rest of the range.

Land Rover has also updated the wider Defender family. Selected X-Dynamic and V8 models can now be specified with a new Extended Exterior Pack, which adds redesigned bumpers, a rear spoiler, and a body-coloured spare wheel cover.

The Defender 110 also gains a new six-seat configuration. Replacing the conventional second-row bench are two individual Captain Chairs, creating a 2+2+2 layout that is said to improve access to the third row.

Elsewhere, the Defender Trophy Edition is now available in a new Santorini Black finish, while the range-topping Octa can be specified in Woolstone Green. A new Namib Orange paint option has also been added to selected Defender 90 and 110 variants, while Land Rover's self-healing protective film is now offered in both matte and gloss finishes.

Defender buyers can also choose from new factory-fit accessories, including an Expedition Roof Light, a lockable tail door-mounted gear carrier, and additional spoiler options.

New colour options include Santorini Black for the Defender Trophy Edition and Woolstone Green for the Octa

Inside, the Defender gains an upgraded voice assistant with generative AI capabilities, complemented by a new Technology Pack that bundles features such as a head-up display, Meridian Surround Sound System, and ClearSight Interior Rear View Mirror.

The update also brings revisions to the engine line-up, including new six-cylinder petrol mild-hybrid powertrains. Meanwhile, the Defender Octa's twin-turbocharged V8 has been updated with exhaust revisions aimed at delivering a deeper and more distinctive soundtrack.
