Amidst speculations of unsuccessful discussions, Michael Stoschek has officially announced the demise of the Lancia Stratos project. Stoschek has tried to revive the rally legend with a futuristic interpretation of the Stratos by Pininfarina, coupled with a Ferrari-sourced power-train from the F430.

Although the concept has attracted 50 ready buyers, the new Stratos is no-go due to disagreements from Ferrari, which reportedly has restricted the collaboration of Pininfarina or any of its suppliers with the project.

Stoschek has added that although he has details of bodywork and chassis in CAD, there are others which are left-out that would construe to the final product. This will rule out the sourcing of alternative company to continue with the project.
