After 12 years since Akira Nakai of RAUH-Welt Begriff (RWB) built the first RWB Porsche 911 in Singapore, the legendary Porsche customiser is back on our sunny island.

While the first RWB build here was a Porsche 911 (964), this time round, Nakai will be building two 911 (997), a white 997 Carrera 4S Cabriolet, and a black 997 Carrera 2 Coupe, over the span of four days. Hosted by Concours Singapore, at Shooting Gallery, a studio located in Tampines, the cars will have their RWB transformation completed by Nakai in front of audiences.

Founded by Akira Nakai, RWB is a Porsche tuning shop that is known for its distinct widebody creations. RWB takes classic Porsche 911s, which already feature flared fenders on their sleek body, and pushes the boundaries with much wider fender flares, along with massive wide wheels.

While such modifications have its roots in attempts to fit wider, grippier tyres to go racing, the aggressive style has attracted many owners and fans.

RWB's Akira Nakai installs the widebody kits personally, creating unique machines

Each RWB creation is personally completed by Nakai, who will cut and remove the original fenders on the cars before attaching the wider components that are designed by him. As a result, each completed car is a unique machine, and the process more like a showcase of expertise, creating a one-of-a-kind experience.

The rough-on-the-edges character and no-holds-barred widebody creations draw in throngs of fans of the brand

With RAUH-Welt Begriff translating to 'Rough World Concept', you get the idea that these builds aren't exactly the type you'll expect at Concours D'Elegance. Instead, Nakai has built up a reputation for being rough on the edges - be it the actual work done on the car, or the process. This makes the build process a distinct experience, which draws fans to come down to see it in person.

The RWB Singapore 997 builds are happening from 24 to 27 June, at Shooting Gallery T5 Tampines, 15 Tampines Industrial Avenue 5, Singapore 528763. Tickets for the event starts from $15, with VIP tickets available at $70, which include autograph and photo opportunities with Akira Nakai of RWB.

In addition to the live build of the two RWB 997s, RWB Singapore exclusive merchandise and die cast model cars, along with food and drinks by Cafe Carrera are also available on site.
