Owned the 2006 model for 9.5 years, recently traded it in for a new car. Mileage was 220K km. Regularly went on trips to penang or genting. Never had any issues with it other than normal wear and tear parts. A very basic but reliable car i had owned, kind of miss it even now. Would have renewed COE for another 10 years if family did not need a bigger car.
I am about 1.78m, used to drive Nissan Sunny, and always find the interior is too small. All my friends don't believe I actually changed to this "smaller" car. Frankly, I really love the spacious of Yaris when I first sat inside. Even my friend who is about 1.77m, 100kg found the car comfortable to sit inside. It's coming to 2nd years I am driving this car now. Never have any problem till now, even the car was about 4.5 yrs now. The pick up does not lost to a Honda Civic 1.8. What to ask more for this value car?
Firstly, i test drove this car last year. It looks like a mini Vios. Kudos to Toyota design team. Inside its just beautiful with good knobs. Very round on the whole with good ergonomics. Than the drive. Compared to the jazz it feels more relaxed with proper seats and positions. The drive is silky smooth and the engine is powerful. tonnes of mods outside. It is spacious and steering is responsive. Quality??? well needless to say coz itz a TOYOTA. Good build quality and aircon. More worth than the useless mickey lookin Jazz. And Stanley this is a small car not for tall people. I dont think the Jazz is much taller...
Wasn't expecting much from a car like Yaris when I traded my old civic for it 2 years ago. However, after driving it, i find it reliable, economical, low maintenance, spacious interior compared to other hatches, sporty ergo, good power and engine performance. What else can 1 ask for, end of the day, its how the driver controls to wheel.
The previous reviewer stanleyyeocw must have a very long upper body and short legs! I'm 1.75m tall and I've driven my Yaris for the past 2 years without any problems. There is ample head and legroom, and it's even more spacious than some sedans! My father-in-law, who's an experienced driver of 30 years, drove it for the first time and asked me if it's got a 2-litre engine! Idiots who haven't even test-driven any car shouldn't even be allowed to write reviews here.
I'm 1.75m in height, those who wanna test drive this car, no need to bother.
The roof is already hitting my head.
I can't even test drive at all.
