Most reliable car and best car
However, steering feel is a bit vague compared with my previous car, the S15, and the car tends to understeer under hard cornering. Not the best track car then but very usable as an everyday drive. Also, not for families with kids as it's a coupe and boot space is not the largest. However, its relatively rare in Singapore and this guarantees its exclusivity.... Read More
After a lifetime with Mercedes... the first BMW
Having owned a C204 - C200 and C350 and a C207 - E350 coupe, I traded toe coupe for the 335i sedan. Why would I do this? Simply, I wanted a stylish 4 door sedan, capable of producing <5.5 sec to 100 km, without looking ostentatious. The 335i is a totally driving experience to a 6 cylinder Benz. Endless torque, insane acceleration yet capable of being a very refined round town car. Having got used to 1,000,000 million buttons in the Merc, it is initially quite daunting to have such a clean and uncluttered dash. I-Drive really has come of age and totally kicks Command APS . Navigation is a dream, iPod sync is amazing and the whole systems much more intuitive. The Benz is a lazy cruiser, very comfortable, but the engine is harsh and for 3.5 liters, the M272 model struggles. The new CGI motor should help fix this. The 335 , with it's N55 single turbo is a 3.0 liter rocket, nice and smooth , great talk and explosive acceleration. Compared to the C350, the BM leaves it for dead. In the handling department the BM needs no sport activation buttons. It is a firmer ride but you can't help but settle back behind the wheel and feel at one with the car. The C and the E MB in comparison feel light and vague in the steering. So much as I will be an ardent MB fan, I have to admit the 335i trounces both the C350 sedan and the E350 coupe. If you want totally predictable , comfortable motoring buy a Benz. If you want a respectable, capable and lightening quick runaround, nothing beats the 335i. ... Read More
