I like a Mercedes
icon image
Review

Test driven both C180s, the one before the intro of the 1600cc model and the 1600cc model.

Exterior

I like the sporty AVANTGARDE version. Or any version of it. haha.. What's there not to like abt a Mercs.

Interior

Clean lines, luxury features, comfort, choice of premium finishes to it. good. Space is decent enough for a mid range luxury sedan. Better than beemer.. keke.. Beemer is a tact too... common. nothing luxury but decent.

Drive

Drive is nothing to shout about. Its what u would expect from a mercs, anything less and it's an insult. Do like the choice of drive, think is comfort, sports and auto. It's quite responsive during sports mode. It's better than i expected.

Overall

I understand that maintenance of a mercedes is rather reasonable. And not much of technical issues regarding to it. So.. I would say its a buy, but abit too ex.. keke

C180K - Best in the price range
icon image
Review

Great car. Getting to like it more day by day. Did not feel it initially during test drive. However, this C180K Blue Eff Model W204 has CD changer with MP3 capabilities and Aux in. Tech Spec better than those in the $150-170k range: BMW320i, VolvoS40, Honda Accord 2.4, Nissan Teanna 2.4. LexusI250 & Audi4 have better specs but higher price, then you get the C200 CGI to compare.

C180K vs 320i
icon image
Review

Just traded in the 320i to the C180K. Collected the C180K last week and owned the 320i below that for 26 months.

Initially, I prefer the handling and the feel of the steering of the 320i and I am slowly being converted. I am begining to prefer the C180K.

Both cars have their Pros and Cons. At my age, the C180K is growing on me. I still miss the "sporty-ness" of the 320i but the comfort and overall offering of the C180K is winning me over.

Both cars have the same power output of 156 BHP but the 320i seems to be more responsive and less noisy when pushed.

If both the 320i and C180K are selling at the same price, my vote goes to the C180K.

C180 Kompressor BlueEfficiency - Registered in 2010 (1.6)
icon image
Review

Took delivery of this car in 2010 from C&C and this is seriously a car you should be considering to own one after you take time to test drive.

For a 1.6 litre engine, and comapring with BMW, AUDI and VW of German Marques, there is nothing close to drivability, fuel consumption and pick up.

The Agility Supension Control is truly a quantum leap ahead of other competitors.

For those current owners, Use SHELL 98RON and pump the COLD tyre pressure to 32PSI (Front) and 33PSI (Rear) to achieve full potential performance of this machine. The Germans are that precise when it comes to tyre and fuel characteristics otherwise you will not be experiencing my description as above. (Even the demo cars in C&C)

C180 CGI - Luxurious & Powerful
icon image
Review

Gotten my C180 CGI in Jul 10. I must say its a fantastic car! The 1.8L turbocharged engine puts out 250NM of torque from 1600 Rpm. Acceleration and overtaking is a breeze. Coupled with the comfortable cabin, stylish interior and huge boot space, this is the ultimate entry level executive saloon!

The C180 CGI is being sold as a BlueEfficiency model and I have been getting ard 14km/L which is excellent for a car with this level of performance.

A fabulous drive

Review

One year after trading my W204 C200k for a brand new W204 C350. The C200 was a fabulous car, however a bit sluggish and slow off the mark. The C350 delivers a great balance between compact saloon, style, high spec list and most importantly performance.

Very quick acceleration and surprisingly good fuel economy.

Having put 15k on it, the engine has settled in and I love the exhaust tone under acceleration.

A year of driving the C230
icon image
Review

After driving a year with 20,000 km on the C230, these is what my personal take of it. The V6 and 7 gear work wonderfully well together. The delivery of power is linear and on tapped at almost any speed. There is always another gear to drop into when the need arises. the V6 is very refine and there is a distinct but muted growl when the engine is revved. The gear changes is also very smooth except when dropping to 1st gear while slowing down where there is a perceptible jerk. Superb ergonomics. Comparatively with similar cars in this segment (BMW325, IS250), the rear is spacious. Good support from seats all round. The throttle response is very sensitive to the needs of the driving. Brakes are superb & works well with engine braking when coasting to a stop. MB has really done a marvelous engineering and design on this car.

Worthy Young Executive Sedan
icon image
Review

The Benz C180 has a finely styled interior and exterior worthy of a young executive.

No doubt the Audit A4 has better equipment (e.g. park & brake assist compared to C180's foot brake) but the low OMV and higher price is a road block for the cost conscious.

Next in line, the BMW 320. Although looking sharp on the outside, the 3 series's interior reminds me of the typical Japanese make made in the early 80s...next pls.

Hardly excited during test drive. Car is small and spacious is not a word to describe.

Interior is plain. 4 spoke steering is so ugly.

Had my C180K for over a month now. Test drove Audi, Saab and BMW prior to purchase but none came close in matching the MB in all categories.

The C class is an absolute delight to own.

The Real Mercedes Drives C180 Kompressor Blue Efficiency

Review

Just bought the C180 Kompressor Blue Efficiency few days ago (28 Apr 09). Performance is so much better than expected.

The design from interior to exterior are excellent. Really value for money. Don't be fooled by the pretenders (320i, Lexus, Audi). Just do the Mercedes drive and you will believe its true.

Top Class Compact Executive Car

Review

Got a C180 Avantgarde just two weeks ago. Gotta admit that the car drives brilliantly. Good fuel economy when on 'C' mode. Light steering at low speeds along with a reverse parking camera makes parking real easy. Acceleration is top-notch for a 1.8l car, and there's no need to use the 'S' mode at all. The only negative things are the easily stained rims (cause of it unknown, maybe the brakes) and lack of size.
