My brother in-law is finding a small car as he is hoping to pay less than $80k. He bought a 3 room flat and trying to replace his 2006 Kia Picatio as he have 2 children which is growing up. I followed him to the Chevrolet Showroom. He looked at the 2011 Chevrolet Spark which cost more then the Aveo. He took a test drive with it and the spark. He bought the Aveo with the yellow colour and a 5 speed manual transmission. The car is nippy and can even drive to KL or many parts in Malaysia.
I got the car for ard 8 mth. pick up is slow, but highway driving is good. Smooth and not very noisy from engine. Good outlook as well, but interior is not so nice. Very plastic and plain looking. Overall the car is not bad. Value for money, but the car give you alot of problem when it come to noise from the under carriage. I encounter a lot of noise from the vehicle just within few month. The issue is not the noise. The issue is the attitude from the service staff from Alpine motor. They never really solve the issue for you and still charge you for it as they mention the noise is not covered under warranty. I will say, overall i will not buy a Chevy car anymore..
I happy with my car, no complants. Overall i like got had few cars before but this i like best. My english no good do not blame.
Drive this car for quite some time already, so far so good with zero issue. Good improvement over pevious model, with better looks and stronger body.
FC of ard 12-13 km per liter. Inside space is good for car of this size, can seat 5 adults, but boot a bit small. One of the best value car in this class, will not burn pocket too deep. Engine ok, won't zoom fast but won't lag too. Stable and smooth at city or highway driving, no feeling of body roll. Body feels solid.
In summary, this car does its job. No bells and whistles but it gets the job done. It won't boost your ego but it brings you around.
First thing that struck me was that it actually looks much better in real life than in photos. At first glance, the new Aveo5 appears slightly longer. It spots a brand new front with the Chevy badge running upfront against the black honeycombed grille. The new one piece headlamp seems to help the Aveo says:
