Fantastic brand and cars, let down by a ueseless, clueless, un interested dealer
consumer review icon image
Review

My parents bought a Skoda Octavia based on my recommendations of knowing the brand. The after sales service, was horrible. The parts department does not stock parts, the service department is almost non existent. I ended up importing parts from the UK to get the car fixed.

It is sad that a wonderful car brand is destroyed by a dealer that should not interested in servicing the customers.

Until the dealership is replaced, pay the extra money and get a Volkswagen.

Harvest Automobiles should just close shop!

Lee Iacocca once said, "In this business you either lead follow r get out of the way." And Harvest Automobiles should just get out f the way. Skoda makes good cars now but In Singapore it is unfortunately run by a bunch of clueless idiots. I sent them a couple of emails to inquire about a car and nobody bothered to reply. Hey guys, if you are not interested in sales just do everyone a favor and get out of the way. I have never seen such a lame duck car dealer.

Harvest service : From bad to worst!

The most disappointing AD in my driving history :(

Keeps shifting service center and now only ONE makeshift service bay!

Are we seeing some major changes???

Hopefully it's for the better

Generally very good quality on par with vw, responsive handling and zippy engine. also like the reverse snob appeal, for those in the know.

Look past the badge

Review

It's a pity that many people cannot look past the badge. This car offers features, comfort, styling and safety which you would expect to pay a lot more for.

The 1.4 litre turbo-charged motor works well and mated with the 7-speed dual dry clutch DSG transmission, power delivery doesn't get any better than this. It also makes the car very fuel-efficient. I can get from changi to jurong via PIE in peak hour traffic and still obtain average consumption figures of 16.6km/litre.

48 litres of premium petrol gets me about 750km in mixed downtown/expressway driving so I only need to top up once a week.

Mine came with all the bells and whistles at a great price, Automatic-active bi-xenon headlights, cornering lamps, auto-dimming rear-view and driver's side wing mirror, electric seats up front with 3-memory for driver, bluetooth phone (using Remote-SIM), 3-way 12 speaker factory sound system with aux input, SD-Card slot and 6 CD changer, Optical Parking system (front and rear), Alcantara Leather interior, cruise-controls, audio/phone controls on steering wheel; you name it, it pretty much has it.

Features aside, it drives the same as the pricier VW Jetta TSi and Golf TSi as they all sit on the same PQ35 platform. Ride is comfortable and handling is excellent with a touch of understeer when seriously pushed.

The build quality of the car is as expected since the car's DNA originates from the VW-Audi Group. Interior does not rattle, quality of materials used feel expensive and solid.

In all, a practical, fun to drive car that will not disappoint.

- Affordble turbo charge car with ample turbo boost which put most cars to shame when gas on. Though its a heavy car, the fuel consumption is excellent! No regrets getting it despite of the unpopularity

Skoda Octavia vRS

Review

I own a Octavia VRS, a more appealing ride for me comparing to a volkswagen GTI. It is larger and more spacious, and the ride is stable and good/ Nice exterior and excellen interior, totaly satisfy and this is one of the best deal that I have ever had. Overall a powerful ride and has a decent FC for a 2 litre car.

Overall, the octivia is a very complete and reliable car. One of the Octavia's best features has to be its boot space and flexibility. The us of a hatch back desogn also mean it has easier loading options.

Octavia VRS - Lovely engine and ergonomics, rear design is a letdown
consumer review icon image
Review

I test-drove the range topping Octavia VRS. A rebodied volkswagen GTI, at a cheaper price. Would appeal more to family men than the GTI, as it is larger and more spacious, and the ride is more supple, less firm, and slightly heavier. The suspension is set at that optiumum level between comfort and sportiness. Love the new front end and those LED lights, and the interior looks like a volkswagen, with hgh quality materials. Interior a bit boring, but very good quality, and should withstand the years. Only letdown for me is the boring rear design. It is also less exciting than the GTI in terms of road holding, handling and agility (due to its size), but is still quite fun to drive.

Mass market copying makes it feel chinese
consumer review icon image
Review

Well, i have never actually tried the car and has zero desire to try one. Why? This is because this is one wrong mix blood, photocopies of BMW, Audi put together. Remember the familiar AUDI LED? Remember the BMW agressive engine cover?

It is a shame that in the name of sales, Skoda sacrificed individuality. Agree? Please rate this car anyone who have tried.
