Upgraded to the 1M from my 135i. Difference is like night and day! Although only 34 PS up in power and 43 Nm up in torque (93 Nm on overboost for 5 seconds), the 1M feels much more ballistic than the 135i. Handling is also on a different planet considering that the 1M has axles, suspension and brakes shared with the M3 Competition although fitted on a smaller wheelbase. Low profile, wide Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres (245/35R19 Front and 265/35R19 Rear) give the car prodigious mechanical grip at cornering speeds higher than you would normally attempt. Have had the car only 7 months to date but still loving every minute of driving it. Less comfortable than the 135i but you would expect it of a more focused performance car although the damping is very well judged, at least for our roads. Interior is not as flash as some other cars at this price and performance level but build quality is great and equipment level is quite high, e.g., 7-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, voice controlled bluetooth, BMW navigation, etc. Also, only 40 plus units in Singapore ensures exclusivity and instant classic status. Oh yes, did I forget to mention that it only comes with a 6-speed manual?
