Powerful JEEP
Went to catch a glimpse of this after seeing it on newspapers...saw the Overland model...
Exterior looks like a typical SUV shape but you will feel the strength of it comparing to the Japanese or even Korean SUVs...maybe even some conti models like Q7 or X6..
Inside is an American interior...standard features like push start, sunroof (can't remember if it's panaromic), etc...
Only difference is it comes with an height adjuster...as the vehicle is pretty high and might pose difficulty in getting up or down even with step-board, the Americans came out with this feature to assist...IMPRESSIVE !
Their boot space is probably the largest in the conti series and just a clip off, it auto lifts up....comes with electric tailgate too...NICE ! Also, there is a top off on the boot for small items access...if not closed, clip off will not work...GREAT THOUGHTS !
The seats can fold down and stay flat out...for more storage...
Not forgetting a conventional SUV coming with all terrian adjuster...this is what you should see in a SUV although not much use in Singapore.
The drive was smooth...a 3.6L powers like a Q7 (less the price tag, road tax and petrol). The sales person says it can do 13km/L...Max or usually is 12km/L. If true, its definately a good one.
The drive along roads are smooth...with AUTO on the all terrain switch, it doesn't feel anything at all...suspension is adjusted according to terrian...similar to Land Rover Evoque.
Gear change was quiet but only 5-speed....hope to see at least 6-speed soon.
Overall, its a good SUV to get for this price and those features you are getting...guess the Americans are good at SUVs after all....a hidden SUV gem to consider.... Read More
Jeep Still can compete
I've finally got a glimpse of what Chrysler (Jeep) was trying to do with the funding from US Gov. The all new Jeep Grand Cherokee with the new Pentastar Engine was one of the first new vehicle from rolled out from Chrysler (Jeep) with this new flight ship engine.

I believe that there will be a list of other models that might use this new Pentastar V6 3.6L in time to come. Maybe the new Wranglers or even the 300c might all have this same powertrain.
At the front of the pack, this 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the vehicle which can help Chrysler (Jeep) put them back where they belong. With all the well crafted advertisements and tag line "The Things We Make, Make Us" in Youtube and all over the web, it makes me feel patriotic and want to serve that country by purchasing this vehicle.
I would say the drive was good, smooth and world of difference compared to the previous Grand Cherokees. With its Trail Rated capabilities and its comfort, it is definitely worth the buy.... Read More
