This model in Malaysia only go for RM 75,000 ! I would rather go for Wish or Stream instead . Both Stream and Wish are selling more than RM 160,000 !

Let's face it, this was Toyota's answer to Honda Freed. Many of you may not be aware, but Freed was the best selling MPV as of late. It's cheaper, sufficient, fuel efficient and very comfortable. The only downside to it is either it's alien looks or lack of Malaysian-friendly ruggedness, both of which the Avanza solves.
The Avanza is sturdy, with a good ride height and ability to traverse lousy roads. Especially if your'e the kind on a budget and go up North often, the Honda Freed may not be the best bet. If you wanted a Vios and needed more space, this is the answer.
OH AND YES - If you totally hated the new Vios Engine's rough growl and pant like a kid in TAF Club, take the Avanza. Many people think its the same engine, but this one is different, and more powerful, refined. I really can't stand the new Vios engine. Loved the previous one.
The Avanza was one of the top sellers in Indonesia because of it's practicality. To us advanced Singaporeans however, we need more gadgetry and design sense, both of which the Avanza lacks.

Exterior design is dependent on personal taste. I find it ok personally. The interior is full of hard plastic and I find the 4 speed auto really unacceptable in this age and time. Overall the car has the basic features to carry 7 people. The most welcome feature being the air blower mounted at the roof. Didn't go for a test drive as put off by the price and hard plastic. One can look at Avanza's close cousin, Terios 7 for a comparison before committing.
