First Impression-
Taking away all of the marketing gimmick about M Performance Automobiles (the recently unleashed middle-tiered range of BMW sports car)....the M235i is essentially a x35i model factory-fitted (by BMW M) with standard M-Sport goodies and key options such as:
- M Sport Bodykit, M Sport BBK system, M Sport Steering Wheel
- M Performance tune kit
- M Performance 18" rims
- Adaptive M suspension with M Sport springs (10mm lower)
- Sports Seats with Lumbar Support (Not to be confused with Bucket Seats)
- Front and Rear PDC
- Extremely reliable ZF 8-speed gearbox
- Navigation Professional
- iTouch
And the list of many options goes on...
Exterior and Interior-
It sure looks better than the M135i due to the fact that the headlights and grilles became more aggressively angular and pronounced.
In general, the car resembles a mini version of the 435i but with subtle distinct key differences such as :
1) the headlights of the M235i are not "conjoint" with the kidney grilles. (in my opinion, its better this way)
2) there are no "Air-breathers" at the sides of the M235i and in its place, a M badge.
3) the L-shaped tail lights are not separated when the boot is opened and its a single shaped fixture.
There's nothing much to comment about the interiors as its standard BMW quality and design. In other words, boringly good. Perhaps, an evergreen approach to any genre of design could be the best solution to face the ever-changing trends of the modern society
The Drive-
To each his/her own but in my opinions:
- the acceleration is astoundingly fast. (international reviewers have tested and averaged out a 4.5 seconds result on the century sprint)
- the M235i is extremely agile with accurate steering response and have no difficulties in steering into/ out of bends.
All in all, the M235i is a driver's car and will definitely not disappoint the car enthusiasts.
