Nimble, powerful 1 litre turbocharged engine. Responsive and not thirsty. The ride is really smooth and enjoyable.
An inexpensive car with very low road tax and maintenance. Fuel efficient.
Good for younger people.
Was shopping for a compact hatch and test driven the VW Golf and Audi A1 SB 2015. Was won over by Audi's built quality and its new 3 pot turbocharged engine which felt much more powerful than it is on paper. The car handled like it was powered by a bigger engine. Its capacity would also mean cheaper road tax, but still more than sufficient for Singapore roads. Drove to Malacca and did not have any problems keeping up with bigger engine cars, and was clocking 130 to 150km/h on the North-South Highway with ease. Fuel consumption is not as per indicated on paper, but still frequenting the gas stations every 18 to 19 days interval.
