Opel's new compact crossover comes with an all new design and a stout little engine. Could this be the car that will allow the brand to establish a foothold here?

When was the last time you actually took note of an Opel car on our roads? Well you probably havn't since most of them don't look particularly remarkable. Enter the Opel Mokka then. This is probably the first Opel in a long time that has character and flair to the way it looks.
And no the Opel Adam which did have character and flair was not a good looking car. This is though.
But yes the looks department is possible where the Mokka shines most brightly as from here on it does everything else well but not to an amazing standard just like all other cars in this price range.
For example, the turbocharged engine while punchy is definitely not what I would call quick. Certainly fast enough for our roads though. However I am not complaining since the Mokka only has a 3 cylinder engine which means it probably sips fuel.......Through a 1mm thick straw and with anaemic lungs.
As the Mokka has a relatively tall ride height, ease of access into the cabin is commendable.
Build quality is pretty decent too, coming with seats that provide good lateral suppot during more spirited driving. And you will most likely indulge in some spirited driving as the Mokka has pretty fine handling characteristics, making it. Easily chuckable.
However the Mokka is not all bed of roses. Being an individual of a taller stature, the back seats are not fun at all to sit in. This is thanks to the sloping headline. Therefore I would not recommend you to purchase this car if you have to fetch passengers who are of above average height. Front seats are not a problem though if you are tall.

The new Opel Mokka returns far more handsome than its predecessor. Up front, there's a new angular grille, and at the back, sharp and slim taillights to fit the funky new chiseled body of the car.
But does it have the driving dynamics to back its new looks?

The Opel Mokka has returned! The new car is sharp, angular, and looks nothing like the old private-hire fleet that used to run around our roads.
