Maserati -GranTurismo -A Sense of Occasion with every drive
Seeing the car up close is already a treat even though I own the previous version. What's good about the styling is retained, and now there are prettier tail lights, smaller headlights which allows for accentuation of the curves on the bonnet more, and the interior has become even more comfortable and spacious, especially at the back. Yes, it no longer has the wonderful V8 soundtrack, but the V6 roar does not disappoint that much either, especially after 4000rpm. When cruising, there is nary a sound that enters the cabin, and road and wind noise are much more insulated now. Still a GT, this car is not something to fling around much, but to make confident stretched out overtakes and to get you up to speed on a long straight road or highway with fanfare. Even with the turbocharging, the drive on all modes strives to be as linear as possible, similar to the previous car, but with a stronger torque and lightness that is useful on our semi congested roads. Interior wise, seats are now slightly smaller, which hugs you better actually, unless one is horizontally challenged. Cabin fit and finish is excellent in an era when many luxury cars are found lacking. Nothing is rattling, almost everything is soft to the touch.
