Reliable and value for money... `
|
|
This model have been around for quite a while
I have always trusted Mitsubishi to give reliable cars with enough power and comfort for everyday use. This car is the same though the interior looks a bit jaded and a bit "left behind" with all the current new model.
The power is good and the FC is quite good... I managed 13km/l on the manual version. It has good low end torque ad is stable to drive with no much bad tendencies.
Good car for beginners and for everyday drives. Great value too. If you don't mind the "dated" design, this is a good investment to make.

Handling for this made in Japan car is superb. Definitely value for money in view of today's high COE premium.

Cool and affordable car `
|
|
Went car hunting a couple of weeks back and shortlisted a few cars within my budget of 50-60k. Did consider getting a second hand car but with the pricing these days, i'm better of getting a brand new car.
Shortlisted these:
1. hyundai avante
2. toyota vios
3. mitsubishi lancer
4. kia cerato forte
Although it was a Sunday, the showroom at Mitsubishi was rather quiet (?high COE) and i went straight for the old GLX model which was going at about 51K for 1.6A.
But noticed the new Lancer MR on display and after a few rounds of explanation with the very helpful SE, and an amazing in house discount of up to 4K, we signed off the deal with a 54K lancer MR (sports kit)
Gotten the COE within the next 3 days and from the time we stepped into the showroom to the moment i collected my car, it took a total of 13 days. The SE was very helpful and patien with us along the way with updates and etc.
My new ride is a beauty, although the ext is identical to the old GLX, the updated bodykits gives it a subtle newer look compared to the old GLX.
Pickup so far has been average but mainly because i am still breaking in the new engine. But the engine noise is decent, good handling and the aircon is strong enough to keep me cool at power setting of 1.
brake however is a bit loose but it can be tighten.
interior wise, the black leather seats (donut sports head rest) and the white background gauges gives it a very sporty feel. The car lacks in sophisication but amplifies in simplicity.
Leg room and boot space are adequate for average use.
however a point to improve on is that the high beam is a on - off switch, meaning that u have to manual flick the switch again to off the high beam rather than the usual one flick on/off.
The car came with aphine stereo system but it cannot play CD and in turn a swap for a kenwood system was made. no complains with the sound it produce thus far.
side mirror is not automatic wind in but what the heck, small issue.
