Most economical car I owned
For a full thank of 65L I can drive for about 900 km. Mainly on short distant travel. With lower cost of diesel and about 14km/l monthly gas cost less than half of my previous BMW520 it only gives 8.9 km/l.
It only 1.6 L but I enjoy good power on high and low speed.
Even better if I put on S,sport auto.
Good safety features,eg City Safety force me go slow when approach entries of car park otherwise safety feature activated and auto brake.... Read More
Volvo V60 diesel a seriously underated car
Had the car for 2+ months. Bought it during a promotion.
In summary …. Sweeet. Specs on paper do not do justice to the car. The diesel engine and 6 speed gearbox match makes the car very punchy from 0-90 km/h. Makes overtaking in city traffic easy. 90 - 140 kmh on the NSH gets nice acceleration and with very good stability. Much better than my previous 2.3 Cefiro
Sound insulation very good. Contrary to what i heard before owning the car, the excellent insulation mutes the diesel chatter to low growl when the car is pushed hard. Add this to the excellent stock sound system, the cabin makes really nice place to be in. When idling or crusing, you can barely hear the engine.
Consumption on a 80% City drive, averages 800km per full tank, till the light comes on ~ $90 before discount. On the NSH, managed Sin to KL and back with 30% Tank remaining. Anycase there is already a Euro 5 station ~ 130 km on the NSH before Singapore
Space wise is where it loses out. Good fit for 5 with very nice legroom but the boot space is limited. Although a hatchback the low roof makes loading limited.
Features arenot impressive. The version sold here is a stripped down image of the full spec V60 sold in the west. No reverse camera, no GPS, no large screen console and no keyless entry
What really wins for the V60 diesel is the combination of having a punchy ride and with excellent consumption... Read More
