Awesome Efficient Drive
Managed to rent a BMW 320d Touring for a month during a stint in the UK recently so would like to share my experience.
The exterior facelifted touring/wagon is a pleasant looker and affirmatively BMW. Interior is the standard cockpit feel with iDrive and rear airconditioning which is great. Seats feel firm and comfortable. Seating space is as per usual mid sized sedan, which is sufficient for 4 full sized adults. This vehicle is also packed with a TON of tech. Electronic seats, air climate control, iDrive with navigation, reverse camera, 360 degrees vehicular visual, heated seats, cruze control, auto & remote tailgate, eco/comfort/sport mode, etc the list goes on.
Being a touring, boot space is of course awesome. Great for families with lots of barang eg pram, child seats, groceries, etc.
The drive is as per what you'd expect from a BMW. The 320d's pickup is not as great in 1st gear, but from 2nd gear the pickup is really awesome. G Force effect as some might say. Driving at approx. 150kmh, revolution is only at about 2,000 rpm, which is great and quiet. The low seating also means higher confidence in handling, especially important when I drive down those country roads. Can get quite bumpy at times however.
Probably the best part about the diesel engine is that it is a diesel engine! Clocked about 800 to 900 km a tank. However a bit displeased about how the diesel engine sounds like with the constant metallic clinking sound.... Read More
