I returned to the showroom twice before I had a chance to test drive on my second visit. I had to drive it to feel the difference between the old & new.
When I first drove the New Beetle in 2005, it was such a let down although I can compensate with its cute looks but what's the use. Then it felt like a cute utility vehicle.
Now, The Beetle has developed some muscles & is delivering some punches with its 1.2l TSI engine (I was surprised the power & torque this small engine responded to my drive ",)
Although there was turbo lag but when the power came, it was rather punchy.
According to industry reviews the rear head room is low but again for most Asians this will not be a major problem. Interestingly, the rear bench seats can sit 3 small size adults comfortably :)
I must admit I dislike VW interior due to certain uniformity like all cars looks the same... so what's the difference? But the new 2012 Beetle is tastefully & slightly different from other VW models with its exterior color combi (much like Fiat 500)... good copy here ",
Overall, I love to have this car but only if the cabriolet version is in town with a higher specs engine :)
