Review
It may be overstyled to death on the outside, but underneath is still a wildly competent family sedan.
What I like
The crazy amount of space all over, the perfect seating position - which feels like it can go lower than in Camrys past. There's also great space for those at the rear.
And the ride comfort is impeccable for a family saloon. Some boatiness when you reach highway speeds, but its hardly anything that will perturb. And the upshot of this is the ability to ride over bumps at speed without disturbing the cabin too much. Awesome.
Hybrid system also delivers respectably on power and responsiveness.
What I do not like
Ah but that design. Those lights, the massive gaping grille, the 'nose' that surrounds the Toyota badge at the front... Lions, tigers, bears, oh my!
Review
What is there to say about the Toyota Camry that has not already been said? It's the iconic Toyota product, next to the Corolla, and sports a hybrid drivetrain from a firm that pioneered the technology. Of course this is a competent sedan.
What I like
Cabin quiet and general comfort. It's still the soft and pliant sedan as always, only overall ride compliancy I dare say is much improved over the previous generation, while the car feels a touch less vague at the wheel than before.
Throttle responsiveness is great, and you hardly feel like you're in need of more power when driving this Camry - a problem that plagues many of its competitors.
What I do not like
Expect a tall road tax bill, and a fair bit of CVT drone at idle.
