Review
Saw this new Tiguan sometime in April or May 2024, until yesterday, 19 July then decide to go catch a better look at it.

Exterior design follows partially Porsche SUV series stretched lights, comes in LIFE and LIFE PLUS, in which their variations are only barely 3 small differences that are, dynamic signal lights, 20 inches wheels and better headlights (forgotten the name for it). Kick boot electric tailgate too.

Interior was a brand new look too, comes with panaromic sunroof with touch-slide buttons, large and bright console, front massage seats with electric memory, new gearshift (twist to engage). Fully auto parking features too.

First to see massage seats at the front where can enjoy while drive or front passenger seat too and individually customizable to your liking too.

Safety wise is also well equipped, like driver alert, where beeps should driver not focus on the road, side assist, 360 camera, park distance where halts if object appears while reversing, front assist, lane assist, assisted cruise control too.

The console is user friendly till the extend that you can "Customized" To any feature built in the car at your choice to leave it ON or turn OFF.

Drive off was easy, twist to engage D (partially similar to Mercedes E and above), and tap to go.

Driving was smooth at COMFORT mode and short car overtake was also possible. Engage in SPORTs mode can feel the car is even more pro-active to dash at your command.

Overall, its a good deal if you are looking at a well equipped 5 seater SUV.

What I like
Panaronic sunroof
Console can customized anything
Well equipped features
Well equipped safety features
Massage seats for front passenger and driver

What I do not like
Price (due to COE)

Impressive Tiguan so far  Posted on 06 Sep 2024

Review
Been driving the Life Plus variant for about 3 months now, clocking 6500km++ mileage. One fuel tank can last about 850km with 50 highway / 50 city driving pattern. No major issues noted except sensor issues (which occurs during heavy rain) or drivetrain error (happened twice but after turning off/on engine, the error code disappeared. Pretty much like rebooting a computer). Well, this is part and parcel of owning a hi-tech vehicle with lots of electronics, which could happen to any brands.

On gearbox, there's absolutely no issue at all since it's built with WET clutch. So whomever still think that there's gearbox issue like 10+ years ago, that's because it's dry clutch. Technology has since improved. So if you are those uncles or clueless/act smart drivers out there, please spare the world from your stupidity and go read up before commenting.

On safety aspects, it's fully loaded than any other german brands out there. By far, only Volvo or the latest Koreans model had it better.

Like
- All the techs and interior space
- Fuel saving (especially when the petrol price is high)
- Nice look and not too boxy like the mk2.

Dislike
- The pickup is really slow (but can be resolved if you get the throttle control)
- the shifting from Gear 1 to Gear 2 kinda lag, need to hit at least 2500 rpm.
- Gear 4 to Gear 5 very lag, sometimes even with 3000 rpm ++ it will not shift the gear up (can be manually resolved using pedal shift).

All in all, a good family SUV for Singapore road. Fuel efficient yet ample space for passengers and shopping.

The revised exterior styling makes the car looks more family-friendly. This may not appeal to those who like strong and rugged-looking SUVs, but could appeal to those families with younger kids.
The front seats are very spacious, but the back seats are a little tight (as the floor is not flat).
This car comes with lots of comfort and safety features.
The interior feels cosy and the accessories are really nice, especially the 15-inch infor system and the gearstick (which is from VW's new EVs).
When I switch the drivetrain to "Eco", I feel like I am driving an EV. It is so quiet and fuel-efficient.
My only complaint is that it feels under-powered. Forget about quick overtakings and being first off a traffic junction (when lights trun green).

What I like
- The cosy interior
- Loads of accessories, comfort features and safety features
- Really quiet when driving leisurely

What I do not like
- Feels under-powered
- Suspension is on the harder side

VW delivers defective lemon Tiguan  Posted on 31 Jul 2024

Review
Volkswagen been selling and delivering defective 2024 manufactured Tiguan.

I took deliver of the new Tiguan in early July, within 2 weeks, the assistance features broke down and sent it in for servicing. The same fault appears again 2 weeks after servicing and VW does not have timeline for a permanent fix nor do they know how to fix it.

They are simply selling defective and lemon cars, and are proud of it. You can look across at other forums they know that this issue is common.

The Volkswagen Tiguan gets a whole new exterior that looks different from iterations of the past, and now comes with a whole new cabin architecture.

What I like
That cabin is feature packed. Massage seats, sunroof, and massive 15-inch infotainment, and a new dashboard more fitting for the price point that the Tiguan always found itself in. That new display is pleasant to look at, and the cabin is generally spacious.

What I do not like
Generally uninspiring to drive - neither rapid nor in any way engaging to power.

Volkswagen's Tiguan is now a Cat A COE car, but still asks for a near-premium price, justifying this with a wide host of features. But is this enough to persuade you from its rivals?

What I like
New cabin is undeniably posh. There's a large screen that dominates affairs, a visually interesting black panel that sits ahead of the front passengers, and a well-though out and fairly clutter free dashboard.

Ride comfort is also great here.

What I do not like
Looks barely half as strong as its predecessor, and feels like it. Gearbox is keen to upshift, and the engine does not deliver enough torque to push the car along when you really need to hustle.

The Volkswagen Tiguan is now a Cat A car and feels very much like it. But if you can get over its demure performance and fairly high price, its host of premium fittings will impress.

What I like
Interesting dashboard design compensates for the weaker exterior.

There's a huge infotainment screen, with proper quality graphics. Overall raised useability, premium damping behind all the controls.

Overall a nice car to pilot and simply ride along in.

What I do not like
Weak engine output makes any kind of hurried manouvere an absolute chore.
