Drove for 3 days, no regret making the decision to buy this car. At first still abit skeptical about the brand. But after doing alot of research decide to buy.
And i am surprise of the function and the driving experience.
Been driving my Omoda E5 since Oct 2025 and honestly no regrets switching to EV. The drive is super smooth and quiet, sometimes I feel like I'm gliding instead of driving ? Range more than enough for daily SG use, and charging became normal after a while.
At first the safety system shocked me a bit — I tried to change lane and the car like "eh bro, not safe leh" and corrected itself. Now I appreciate it. Voice control also quite shiok, just talk and it works. Overall happy with the car.
The Omoda E5 is a standout choice for those seeking a stylish, tech-forward electric SUV without the premium price tag. Its "X-Future" design gives it a sleek, grill-less aesthetic that feels modern and sophisticated.
Inside, the cabin is a highlight, featuring an impressive 24.6-inch curved dual-screen and a premium 8-speaker Sony sound system. Performance is equally sharp; the 61kWh battery delivers a practical WLTP range of 430km, it easily handles daily commutes and weekend trips.
The Omoda E5 offers great value for money. At its price point, it comes with a premium interior, strong safety features, a 61kWh battery, and an impressive 10-year battery warranty, along with 10 years of free servicing.
After-sales support at the Vertex Ubi service centre has been excellent — the service agents are responsive and helpful.
Overall, it's a practical and reliable EV for driving in Singapore and even for trips to Malaysia.
Had received the car in July 25, and it has not given me any problem. Only complaint would be the charging time required if using AC charging. Car has served me well daily from east to west. I realized it saves more electricity if is driving at 50-60km/hr. Maybe this is the nature of the electric motor. It saves even more if there is a traffic jam, as the electric motor pulls electric only when it moves...during stationary no electricity consumption except the Aircon. Is reliable to me and is easy to drive till date. No regrets changing from combustion to electric.
Omoda E5 has a nice exterior styling with interesting features. Internally, it is nice and also has a good mix between electronic and manual controls.
I enjoy my drive every time.
I have been driving the OMODA E5 since May 2025 and has overcome my initial fear of owning an EV.
Charging the car was so easy and the range of close to 430km city driving was indeed reachable.
Once the car moves, you just want to keep driving! Gives you the feeling of quietness and tranquility.
The many safety features give you assurance and nothing is taken for granted!
For the price I bought, it is definitely a steal comparing to an ICE vehicle of the same level.
The futuristic shape of the car is eye catching and it stands out amongst other cars park together
First time owner of an EV + a car, we are happy with the car so far in terms of its practicality and also the interface, design of the car. The charging is not tough in Singapore and it makes things alot easier. It has been a year in since we have the car and so far it's been a wonderful ride for our family. We have recently heard about the new app that Omoda have now so we are even happier with our decision we made a year ago to purchase the Omoda.
After several months on the road, the Omoda E5 feels like a value-packed EV that gives one a lot of features for the price, but with a few rough edges I learned to live with.
Driving Experience & Daily Use
Pros
• Smooth and silent EV feel: The instant torque and quiet ride make city and highway driving enjoyable.
• Strong performance: The 99kW electric motor puts out decent acceleration and can feel brisk for everyday use.
• Tech and screens: Dual widescreen displays and infotainment get lots of praise for clarity and modern look.
Cons
• Steering and throttle are a bit "off": Many reviewers (and owners) mention light, disconnected steering and throttle that can feel jerky or twitchy, especially at low speeds.
• Regen levels and brake feel: Regenerative braking can feel abrupt and isn't always well-modulated, leading many to stick with the lowest regen setting for smoother driving.
• Driver assist systems reset every start: Some safety/ADAS settings don't stick after turning the car off, which becomes an annoyance over time.
Verdict: Comfortable for daily commuting and long trips, but not as refined as some rivals.
Many safety features to alert drivers of dangers but it can be quite annoying with many sounds and alerts so I like to turn them off. Good battery efficiency. I like the sunroof.
Driving the Omoda E5 feels engaging and confidence-inspiring, especially in urban settings. The EV's electric motor delivers smooth, instant torque, making acceleration from standstill lively and responsive
This is my first China made car. The most appealing factor that led to my purchase was the price and design. Omoda is part of the Cherry group and that company has a pretty strong history in manufacturing cars, and is one of the top car manufacturers in China and rest of the world - so they have the history and DNA of car manufacturing.
My review is based on a couple of months driving the car so far, no major complaints, but for those switching over from a petrol/ hybrid car - there are some things to get used to.
Stylish interior and exterior design. Plenty of features. Salesperson Hannah was patient and polite, after service was good.
This is my first EV. And for the price, the features that come with it is unbeatable. Within the same bracket, i was comparing with BYD's Atto 2 and this car has a much better price, much better range, a moon roof, a powered tailgate, and a much sleeker exterior. The car turns heads everywhere i go.
The Omoda E5 is a solid choice for an affordable electric SUV. It's got a sleek design, spacious interior, and decent driving experience. The 61kWh battery gives it a 257-mile range, with 80% charge in 28 minutes via DC fast charging.
Standout features include twin 12.3-inch screens, 50W wireless charging, 360-degree camera, and comprehensive safety features like auto emergency braking and lane-keep assist.
Some drawbacks: firm ride and smaller boot space compared to competitors.
Overall, the Omoda E5 is a great budget-friendly option with plenty of features. ?
