Just collected my Jaecoo J6 and wanted to share some first impressions for anyone considering it.
I came from a Japanese sedan, so moving into a Chinese SUV was honestly a big mental shift for me. I did my homework, test drove a few competitors, and eventually landed on the J6 because of the overall value proposition and how it felt on the road.
Exterior & Presence
The design is bold without being over-the-top. It has that boxy, modern SUV stance that stands out in carparks. Definitely gets second looks. Build quality feels solid when closing the doors - no hollow tin-can vibes.
Interior & Tech
This is where it really surprised me. The cabin feels premium for the price point. The screen is responsive, UI is intuitive, and the 360 camera is super helpful in tight SG carparks. Seats are comfortable and supportive. The cabin insulation is decent too - quieter than I expected.
Drive & Comfort
Power delivery is smooth, especially in city driving. Steering is light enough for daily commuting but still stable at higher speeds. Suspension handles road bumps and uneven surfaces fairly well. It's tuned more for comfort than sport, which suits daily driving in Singapore.
Space & Practicality
Plenty of headroom and legroom. Boot space is practical for groceries, gym bags, and family use. Rear seats are comfortable for passengers, not just "token back seats."
Value for Money
For the price, you get a lot of features that are optional add-ons in other brands. Safety tech, cameras, big infotainment screen, modern design. That was a big factor in my decision.
Things to Note
- Brand is still relatively new in Singapore, so long-term reliability remains to be seen.
- After-sales support will be something I'm monitoring closely.
- Fuel consumption still too early to comment.
Overall, first impressions are very positive. It feels like a well-equipped, comfortable SUV that punches above its price point. Looking forward to seeing how it performs long term.

J6 blends rugged looks with modern electric power. Its bold, boxy design and high ground clearance give it strong off-road character, while instant torque delivers smooth, responsive acceleration. The ride is quiet and stable, and the cabin pairs durable materials with a clean digital interface. Spacious and practical, it works well for daily drives or weekend adventures—offering classic SUV personality with efficient, zero-emission performance.
Everything is fantastic!
Been loving it since the day I collected the car.
The bold, rugged design turns heads everywhere I go, and the modern interior feels premium and high-tech. It drives smoothly, feels solid on the road, and is super comfortable for everyday use.
Stylish, practical, and packed with smart features — it'was a great choice.
Being in a J6 definitely evokes a sense of adventure, offering a combination of comfort and versatility.
Jaecoo J6 is likely one of the most interesting car you can find in Singapore right now. It is definitely a head turner and there is this unique characteristics in it. Surprising good to drive even with the RWD variant. Sufficient power for daily use and easy to manoeuvre around city area.
When I started researching on the EV landscape in SG, the obvious choices are well, obvious. One glance on the road and you can roughly guess what I am referring to. However fate and destiny led me to reviews of the Jaecoo 6. The next thing I know I was at Vertex Automobile for a test drive. Sitting inside just felt right. It makes the driver feel powerful and different. It oozes individuality and style. The drive is smooth and comfortable. As what the other reviewers say, it is a head turner. Not that I am and want to be a showoff but that feeling on the road being different, knowing I am in a select group of car owners is an awesome feeling. I cannot recommend enough of this vehicle.
My wife and I love the design and shape of the car at the first look. Decent price range.
It's out-stand from other EV, simple and rugged look.
I decide switch to EV is due to price and frequent visit place there is always charger available.
The Jaecoo J6 is a head turner and a great drive. Smooth stable ride, instant power when you need it and commanding view. Easy transition from ICE to EV.
Powerful enough to have 5pax and drive up Opera Estate steep slope.Sunshades & Sunroof can also be voice activated which makes it kinda fun.Was contemplating between the features packed Tesla 3 and Jaecoo J6 and no regrets decided on Sporty Unique J6 with various drive modes over the Branded Atas looking*(getting boring) Tesla which has only Single Pedal Regenerative drive mode, which makes me dizzy ?.
If you're tired of seeing the same cookie-cutter electric vehicles on Singapore's roads, it's time to look at the Jaecoo J6. I've had mine for a few weeks now, and it has genuinely exceeded my expectations in almost every way. It's not just a car; it's a statement.
The first thing that hits you is the incredible design. In a sea of curvy, lookalike crossovers, the J6's boxy, square-jawed silhouette is a showstopper. It channels the spirit of iconic off-roaders like the Land Rover Defender and Mercedes G-Wagen, but with its own distinct identity . The "i" motifs in the headlights and tailgate, and that clever little storage box on the rear door (perfect for my muddy gym shoes or wet umbrellas), add unique touches that draw compliments everywhere I park .
This car is truly one of those that, at first look, makes one wonder why someone would buy it. But its looks are indeed endearing and certainly turns heads on the road. Owning it, it certainly is one of the best drives at its price point. Such a nice car to drive, quiet, powerful, more than adequate trim, some spots of luxury. Space, while not fantastic, is more than adequate. If I had a grouse, or grouses, it would be software and boot space. Software could be more sophisticated and less buggy, but it is work in progress. Boot space is rather small but tall, so different kind of utility. Overall a good car, reasonable pricing, and absolutely no regrets!
