A fire broke out at the work site of Little India station, which is part of the new Downtown Line 2. The accident took place at the work site along Race Course Road at around 9:30pm on Wednesday night.
A spokesman from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said three large metal containers were on fire. Three water jets were used to extinguish the fire.
A Land Transport Authority (LTA) spokesperson has confirmed that the small fire did not cause any impact to the construction of the station. The fire was put out by 10:00pm, and no injuries were reported.
