09 Apr 2014|2,397 views
To enhance competition in the Audi R8 LMS Cup, the R8 Cup cars will receive a 'push-to-pass' boost function for easier overtaking. Also, weight, in the form of ballast, will be added for podium drivers.
These new features were announced during the test session for the 2014 season at Zhuhai International Circuit over the past weekend.
The 'push-to-pass' function will temporarily add around 50 more horsepower to the race cars’ output to allow for easier overtaking.
The maximum number of boosts, however, will be adjusted according to the layout of different circuits. On the other hand, 'success ballast' will be added to drivers who reach the podium for their next race. This is to further enhance competition at the top of the field.
The 2014 R8 LMS Cup will see up to 24 participants, with 16 of them tested at the Zhuhai Circuit - including new drivers.
