Singapore's flag may fly high at Volvo Trucks' Global Fuelwatch event, which will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 19th September.

Singapore's flag may fly high at Volvo Trucks' Global Fuelwatch Challenge, where a total of 23 drivers from all over the world will compete to see who can drive most fuel efficiently. The event is held in Gothenburg, Sweden, at Volvo Trucks Headquarters.

Recognising the fact that fuel costs take up to 50 percent of operating costs of a haulage business, the event is an initiative to educate drivers on how driving habits can affect vehicles' fuel consumption, and at the same time, how they can reduce the impact on the environment.

Drivers will be assessed based on driving and fuel management skills, which include the use of brakes, engine and gearbox, as well as the ability to meet deadlines and follow traffic rules.

Representing Singapore is Mr. Eros Neo Jit Hong, who has achieved outstanding results at the local competition. He will be joined by 13 other drivers from the Asia Pacific to contest in a regional on-road competition, where the top three contestants will be selected to take part in the global final.
