Under the lead of world renowned sailor Giovanni Soldini, the Maserati Soldini Yacht claimed the record of the fastest sailing yacht - covering the journey between New York City and San Francisco, through the Cape Horn and around the Americas (nicknamed the 'Golden Route') with a 47-day voyage.

Basking in the glory of the achievement, Maserati also presented the new Quattroporte GTS - the flagship sports sedan. The sedan was first shown to the local audience early in March this year, and packs a twin turbo V8 powerplant, capable of no less than 530bhp, which grants it a century sprint timing of 4.7 seconds.
Sharing his joy at the event, Skipper of the Maserati Soldini Yacht, Giovanni Soldini, said, "My team and I are excited to be here in Singapore to showcase the latest developments adding to the class and sophistication that are synonymous with Maserati."
"Having to race against time to beat the record timings of each voyage is something that I look forward to; it is a feat that could only have been achieved through the perfect balanced of reliable team and engineering offered by Maserati," he added.
For their next leg of race, Giovanni and his team will set sail to Cape Town, South Africa on 5th November.

The yacht chosen for this specific challenge is the VOR 70 Maserati - a racing yacht that measures over 20 metres, and designed to be the world's fastest monohull featuring a carbon mast of over 30 metres, a canting keel, water ballast, canards, sleek and elegant waterlines, and a composite construction.
