Rolls-Royce celebrates a decade of success and excellence at its Goodwood home with a series of bespoke Phantoms, fondly named the Home of Rolls-Royce Collection. A total of 25 cars were commissioned by the bespoke team at the ultra luxury marque's headquarters, and one of them was in town for the collection's South East Asian debut.

Sharing his joy in commemorating the special occasion, Regional Director of Rolls-Royce Cars for Asia Pacific Paul Harris said, "Goodwood has been the centre of manufacturing excellence thanks to a unique combination of traditional craftsmanship, cutting-edge technology and world-class Bespoke design. These have been greatly appreciated in the Asia Pacific region over the last ten years."

It is no surprise that demand for these bespoke programs has rose through the decade, and even on our local shores, bespoke orders from Phantom customers is one of the highest in the world.

Like all other Rolls-Royces that roll out of the Goodwood plant, the Home of Rolls-Royce Collection is carefully distinguished with a number of beautifully handcrafted 'works of art'.

For instance, a 'celebration' motif is presented in hand crafted marquetry on the front fascia of the Phantoms. The effect is uniquely achieved by methods similar to the artistry of fine furniture makers, where individual pieces of wood veneer are laser cut and painstakingly assembled by a craftsperson - 170 sections in all, made up by 11 varieties of wood. Only the most trained craftsmen are then employed to perform quality control on the finished product - using only the human eye.

Of course, the motif is one of many bespoke parts within the special edition Phantom. The upholstery showcases another intricate aspect of the level of craftsmanship at Rolls-Royce.

A compass motif is specially created to express the firm's position as a global centre of manufacturing excellence. In total, 672 metres of thread is used with 450 pieces of individual leather to create the interior of each of the Home of Rolls-Royce Collection Phantom.
