Mercedes-Benz has introduced a new class of vehicle - the GLE Coupe. A crossover between a coupe and an SUV, the GLE combines the distinct traits of these two genres of vehicles to boast a distinctive and striking character.

At the top of the GLE model range is Mercedes' first model in its new AMG sports lineup - the GLE450 AMG. Besides a generous amount of standard equipment such as DYNAMIC SELECT dynamic handling control system, Sports Direct-Steer system and a slew of other driver assistance systems, the GLE450 AMG will come with the 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive.

Other variants in the lineup will comprise of the GLE350d, which has a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel unit underneath its hood, and the GLE400 with a 3.0-litre V6 petrol unit. Both models will also come with the marque's proprietary 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive system and the 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission.

The GLE has a voluminous cabin that provides space for up to five people. The rear seat bench in the GLE Coupe is even the widest in its class. Drivers who order the optional large panoramic glass roof are rewarded with an even greater feeling of spaciousness for all the passengers. With a maximum of 1650 litres, the GLE offers the largest luggage compartment in its class and also holds the world record for luggage compartments in coupes.
