BMW has concluded 2014 with great success, winning more than 50 national and international awards. The Bavarian automaker has demonstrated excellence in various fields, ranging to technology to sustainability, innovation and design.

The most important awards include the the renowned 'International Engine of the Year', with the 3.0-litre inline-six petrol unit claiming the top spot for the fourth time. The winner was decided by a specialised panel of 82 journalists from 34 countries.

The same jury also awarded the BMW i3 with 'World Green Car of the Year', and 'World Car Design of the Year' for its trendsetting design.

Also, the BMW 3 Series GT and the BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Concept was awarded with the 'Good Design Award' by judges from Chicago Athenaeum, Museum for Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture, Art Design and Urban Studies. 

On the international stage, the design of BMW cars was further acknowleged, with several models awarded 'Red Dot Design' awards. Prize winner include the BMW 2 Series Coupe, the BMW 3 Series GT, the BMW 4 Series Coupe and Convertible as well as the BMW i3 in the category 'Best of Best'. The BMW i8 also received a 'Red Dot Award'. Moreover, the car was also honoured by the Industrie Forum Design e.V with the 'iF product design award 2014' in recognition of its innovative styling.
