The highly-anticipated Honda HR-V has been launched in Singapore, combining a chic, urban image of a crossover with genuine practicality for the family.

The new Honda HR-V has finally been launched here in Singapore. The compact crossover is one of the most highly-anticipated model for 2015, and looks set to rock the motoring scene with its sleek styling, chic image and genuine practicality. The moniker has made a comeback after the first generation HR-V - a three-door compact SUV - was launched back in 1998 alongside the CR-V SUV.

This time round, the HR-V is appealing to modern urban dwellers with a sporty and family-oriented lifestyle with its five-door setup, roomy cabin and functional boot area that promises utility.

The taller ride height is designed to give the driver a better and commanding view of the road, which makes driving in our cityscape easier and more enjoyable.

On the inside, clever cabin design helps to fully utilise the available room for the best people and load carrying capabilities, with a flexible seating arrangement that allows large objects to be carried easily.

Drivers can also easily access the car's infotainment system via a series of interactive touchscreen displays and control. There's now a 7.0-inch touchscreen audio system with USB, HDMI and Bluetooth connectivity functions, as well as a electrostatic touch panel for the climate control system.

Under the hood of the HR-V lies a 1.5-litre four-cylinder i-VTEC engine that pumps out 120bhp and 145Nm of torque, and is coupled to an Earth Dreams CVT transmission. This setup is also found in the City sedan and Jazz hatchback, and promises to deliver an efficient driving experience with a fuel economy of 15.4km/L.

The HR-V is the first in its class to be fitted with Amplitude Reactive Dampers, which uses two separate damping systems to deliver superior ride comfort without compromising handling. The core technology comprises of two damping pistons - a core piston to handle minor road irregularities, and a secondary piston to improve ride quality and handling in more severe conditions.

Prices for the Honda HR-V start from $127,000, including COE and a five-year unlimited mileage warranty covered by Kah Motor.
