Mercedes-AMG has published a series of teaser images of its upcoming GT R
16 Jun 2016|1,865 views
You're looking at the most potent version of Mercedes-AMG's GT supercar that you can buy. Toned down for the streets, the new GT R is essentially a street legal version of the GT3 race car that was designed to compete in FIA-sanctioned events.
Visually, the GT R will gain a more aggressive-looking body kit characterised by a large spoiler at the back, and a massive air diffuser built into the rear bumper.
By using lightweight materials such as carbon fibre, as well as removing excess weight inside and out, AMG has shed nearly 91kg off the GT. The teaser image reveals very little about the cabin, but we expect it to be a lot more basic than the standard GT's.
The Mercedes-AMG GT R will make its official debut at the upcoming 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed, and will go on sale globally soon after.
