Honda reveals official images of its NSX GT3 ahead of North American campaign

The development car is clad in exposed carbon fibre bodywork, unlike the painted NSX GT3 concept unveiled earlier this year in New York. It is unclear if the final build will keep its raw finish to save a few pounds, or adopt a traditional racing livery when the racing season begins. 

The GingerMan Raceway in South Haven, Michigan, hosted the photo shoot, with a few pictures in the rain and at night. Honda will continue to test the car at various circuits in the U.S.A for further tuning.

Aside from the exposed carbon, the GT3 racer can be distinguished by its large deck wing spoiler, underbody diffuser and enlarged hood vents. It omits all-wheel drive and the street car's hybrid system, instead channeling power from the 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 to just the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential racing gearbox.

The track-only car is scheduled for homologation as an official FIA GT3 contender this fall.
