Mercedes-Benz gives the CLA Coupe and Shooting Brake a fresh face for 2016 with a little nip-and-tuck, which includes sporty new bumpers with LED high-performance headlamps, a diamond radiator grille in black as standard and new light-alloy wheels. Launched last Friday, the 14th of October, at the Asian Civilisation Museum located along the historic Singapore River, Cycle & Carriage invited the media, celebrities and customers to feast their eyes on the new facelifted CLA-Class under the stars.
Guests were encouraged to explore the interior of the cars, as both also benefited from numerous enhancements, among them new seat covers and trim parts, as well as chrome-plated controls. Hands-free access and further possibilities for integrating smartphones into the control system are all options that serve to enhance safety and comfort.
The highlight here is a much slimmer-looking freestanding 8.0-inch media display with a new-style glass cover. This is available as an option for the Audio 20 USB and Audio 20 CD systems. The new-style dials and red needles found in the instrument cluster make it easier to read.
The Mercedes-AMG CLA45 4MATIC Coupe and Shooting Brake models now feature a new A-wing design with front splitter inserts in matte titanium grey and high-gloss black flics. According to Mercedes, the latter helps to improve the flow of cooling air. New at the rear is the design of the diffuser insert, with four vertical fins.
The AMG CLA45's 2.0-litre turbocharged engine produces 381 horses and a maximum torque of 475Nm at 2,250rpm to 5,000rpm, making them among the most powerful vehicles in their segment. They have a 0-100km/h sprint time of 4.2/4.3 seconds (Coupe/Shooting Brake), while keeping fuel consumption at 6.9L/100km.
