Panasonic Jaguar Racing leaves Berlin with first silverware and mixed emotions

Panasonic Jaguar Racing's Adam Carroll and Mitch Evans concluded their first FIA Formula E double-header weekend by finishing in P16 and P17, respectively, on day two of the Berlin ePrix. A mixed second day in the German capital, the newest team to join the championship showed strong improvement in qualifying performance from the race, with Mitch Evans starting seven places higher than the day before in P9 just half a second from pole position.
Evans was consistently in contention for a fifth consecutive points finish during the first half of the race. However, a procedural issue during the car swap on lap 23 meant that the New Zealand racer rejoined the track in P17, behind teammate Adam Carroll. Carroll made up five places on the opening lap of the race after a tough qualifying session. He ultimately brought the Jaguar I-TYPE home in P16.
Having recorded the fastest lap of the race, the British team leaves the Tempelhof track with its first silverware for the fastest lap in race one and is now P9 in the team standings with 20 points.
