Motor Image Enterprises, the exclusive distributor of Subaru cars in Singapore, launched the all new XV crossover at an event held at its showroom on 27th July.

Motor Image Enterprises, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in Singapore, launched the all new Subaru XV at an event held at its showroom on 27th July.

Representing the first full model change since the original Subaru XV was launched in 2012, the new crossover will excite drivers in a multitude of settings, from urban driving to the great outdoors. It is also the second model to employ the revolutionary Subaru Global Platform, which will make every drive an experience with heightened levels of confidence, comfort and control.

"The all new Subaru XV is a unique, bold car that will cater to Singaporeans who require the practical and functional features of a crossover sport utility vehicle for their everyday activities," said Mr. Glenn Tan, Executive Director, Tan Chong International Ltd.

"Built on the new Subaru Global Platform, the all new Subaru XV offers an improved interior and exterior styling without sacrificing performance and safety. We are confident that the all new Subaru XV will exceed expectations in Singapore and deliver a driving experience that is second to none."

The 1.6-litre Boxer engine - which puts out 113bhp and 150Nm of torque - has been revamped, making the new engine lighter to deliver more power and excellent fuel economy of 15.2km/L. The Lineartronic transmission is also lighter than the previous model and features auto-step shift control, which provides the driver with better driving comfort.

In addition to Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, the all new Subaru XV now comes equipped with X-MODE, which enhances driving performance on challenging terrain through optimised integrated control of the engine, all-wheel drive system, brakes and other functions. The Hill Descent Control setting gives drivers greater peace of mind by maintaining low speeds on downhill slopes.

The Subaru Global Platform has dramatically increased the all new Subaru XV's rigidity throughout the body and chassis by over 70 percent, compared to previous models. This reduces vibrations and body roll, which results in a quiet and smooth ride. A quicker steering gear ratio and lower centre of gravity has also been achieved, empowering drivers with highly responsive steering and straight line stability.

Price as of press time (inclusive of COE)

    Subaru XV 1.6i-S (A) - $104,800
