Panasonic Jaguar Racing drivers Nelson Piquet Jr. and Mitch Evans today completed three days of crucial pre-season testing at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. The British team focused on performance and reliability ahead of their second season in the series. Across the three days of testing, the team completed 408 laps and 1,224km.
During the off-season, Panasonic Jaguar Racing have spent time focusing on developing a new powertrain, improving the efficiency of the Jaguar I-TYPE 2, and utilising high-strength lightweight materials to optimise the design and packaging of key components. These improvements were put to test over the three-days, enabling the team to gather as much information as they could ahead of the season kick-off in December.
James Barclay, Team Director of Panasonic Jaguar Racing, said, "Pre-season testing is such an important stage for us in our technical development. It was the first time running four Jaguar I-TYPE 2 race cars together, and we have collected a lot of data from the runs. Overall, it's been positive and we're looking forward to the season ahead. We are optimistic but will be working flat out until Hong Kong."
