Cycle & Carriage Singapore launches BYD's range of electric forklifts equipped with their proprietary lithium iron phosphate batteries.

Entering into an agreement with BYD group, Cycle & Carriage Singapore made its first foray into the material-handling equipment sector with the launch of BYD's range of electric forklifts in Singapore yesterday, 26 November, at the Infinite Studios.

BYD's range of electric forklifts utilises its cutting-edge lithium iron phosphate batteries, which provide many benefits
Cycle & Carriage is one of the most diversified automotive groups in Singapore. It currently represents six marques here, offering a wide range of passenger cars and commercial vehicles such as vans, buses and trucks.

Cycle & Carriage Singapore will represent BYD's lithium iron phosphate electric forklifts as the exclusive distributor. The BYD electric forklifts are powered by the revolutionary lithium iron phosphate battery, a cutting-edge technology that is set to be the next wave in the material-handling equipment space.

These forklifts are designed to drive operational efficiency that will generate higher cost savings while offering a zero-emission, zero-pollution promise.

"With stricter carbon emission standards and the growing importance of corporate sustainability, we believe that lithium battery technology will be a game changer for the material-handling industry, replacing diesel and conventional lead-acid electric forklifts," says Mr. Eric Chan, Managing Director, Cycle & Carriage Singapore.

An industry leader in the energy and transportation sectors, BYD has been making waves in Singapore with recent announcements highlighting its work in developing cutting-edge electrified transportation.

BYD's Proprietary Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries enable their forklifts to have a long battery life of over 4,000 cycles, which is equivalent to more than 10 years of usage. Aside from their exceptionally long lifespan, there is also no release of toxic vapour during the charging process. These batteries are built to withstand the harshest working environment without any risk of fire or explosion, which ensures safety during operation of these forklifts.

To celebrate the official launch, Cycle & Carriage offered a special promotion to the first 50 companies that register their interest in the BYD forklifts. Rental customers can look forward to two to five months of free rental while direct purchases will enjoy an over-trade amount of $4,000 to $11,500.
