Chinese car manufacturer Geely hosted its official global launch of its first all-electric brand, Geometry, with its first electric car, the Geometry A, here in Singapore.
The Geometry brand represents Geely Auto Group's foray into electrification and clean mobility solutions.
Geely has invested over 30 billion RMB ($6.61 billion) in its efforts to achieve this, which includes five global research and development centres, five global design centres and over 3,000 personnel.
Geely's aim is to have Geometry become a world-class new energy eco-industrial chain and plans to launch 10 all-electric cars by 2025.
The Geometry A seeks to redefine standards of all-electric cars. On the name 'A', President and CEO of Geely Auto Group, An Conghui, said that it is the first letter of the name Archimedes, the father of mathematical physics.
On the launch of the Geometry brand and its first all-electric product, Mr. An added, "Geometry is our answer to the future of the industry, a representation of our ideals. The launch of Geometry and its first product advances Geely's strategic goal of becoming one of the world's top 10 automotive groups."
Designed for global users in Geely Design Shanghai, a design concept of being 'Multi-Dimensional, Fluid, and Alive' was adopted for the Geometry brand and its first model.
Geometry A uses a minimalistic, avant garde design, which pays special attention to the aerodynamics of the vehicle's exterior. Merging the art of design with the science of engineering have resulted in a model with an aesthetically pleasing fluid form, offering an ultra-low drag coefficient figure of 0.2375, comparable to high-performance all-electric models.
Inside, the Geometry A reflects the purity of electric vehicles with a minimalistic elegance. Subtle design elements such as laser engraved panels, geometric design patterns and touch buttons add a high-tech elegance to the interior.
The Geometry A also offers Level 2+ driver assistance features, giving a slew of safety assistance features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Brake with Pedestrian Recognition, and Lane Keep Assist. The Geometry A also features Front and Rear Collision Warning, where it can detect fast approaching vehicles from the rear and flash the hazard lights in quick succession as a warning.

Using a fast charger, the Geometry A can charge its battery from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes. It also comes with a Super E Energy Station system, which gives the Geometry A an external power plug to power electronic items like ovens, lamps, and laptops.
The Geometry A will come in two variants determined by its range. The Standard Range Version offers up to 410km in New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) tests, while the Long Range Version offers up to 500km in NEDC range figures.
As of press time, the Geometry A has already received over 27,000 orders globally including Singapore, as well as in Geometry's domestic market, China.
Ex-Maserati dealer Hong Seh Motors has been appointed to oversee Geometry's distribution in South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Stay tuned for more info on when and how much the Geometry A will be made available locally by Hong Seh.
