BMW adds to its already impressive SUV portfolio with the all new BMW X6, renewing the fight against popular rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz GLE coupe and the Porsche Cayenne. Featuring a refreshed design, advanced powertrain, dynamic handling, and a full suite of innovative operating technology and driver assistance systems, the new X6 looks set to deliver.

The new X6 will also sport an optional illuminated BMW kidney grille
The new X6 will celebrate its world premiere at the IAA Cars 2019 international motor show in Frankfurt in September. The market launch will follow in December 2019.

Leading the range is the BMW X6 M50i, powered by a newly developed petrol V8, while a BMW X6 M50d featuring a six-cylinder in-line diesel engine and four turbochargers will also be offered.

Local buyers might be more interested in the two petrol units and a pair of diesel variants also available from launch - the BMW X6 xDrive40i and BMW X6 xDrive30d will be powered by a straight six petrol and straight-six diesel respectively, while all models come as standard with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission and the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system.

Vernasca leather upholstery in the interior is standard
Buyers can also expect increased legroom with the X6's increased wheelbase of 42mm to 2,975mm. The new BMW X6 is also 26mm longer than the outgoing model (to 4,935mm) and 15mm wider (to 2,004mm) in width, while standing 6mm lower (at 1,696mm) with a wider front track (+44mm) giving it a more sporty and aggressive look. The new model also has a lower centre of gravity than its predecessor.

The new X6 will also sport an optional illuminated BMW kidney grille, forming part of the daylight running system. Adaptive LED head lights are standard while the optional BMW Laserlight now has an optimised non-dazzling high beam function, increasing its range to 500 metres.

All new X6s will come with 19-inch light-alloy wheels as standard, while Sport trim lines and M Sport models will wear 21-inch wheels. The X6 M50i and M50d will come with 22-inch light-alloy wheels.

Driver assistance features make even downtown driving a breeze
Vernasca leather upholstery in the interior is standard, while extended BMW Individual Merino leather trim is also on the options list. The standard sports seats in the new BMW X6 are electrically adjustable and heated, while the optional Multifunction seats, will offer a choice of features such as seat ventilation and a massage function for the driver and front passenger.

Standard tech features for the new X6 include Cruise Control with braking function as well as Collision and Pedestrian Warning with City Braking function, alerting the driver when cyclists are detected. Active Cruise Control system with Stop & Go is also available as an option, making driving a breeze even in city traffic.
