Vauxhall's Astra gets an updated range of petrol and diesel powertrains setting the standard for efficiency and low emissions. Customers can expect to benefit from reduced CO2 and fuel consumption, as well as a series of class-leading technology and equipment.
Three-cylinder, turbo petrol units are now available with 1.2 and 1.4-litre displacements. Power outputs range from 108bhp to 143bhp and maximum torque from 195Nm to 236Nm, providing a balance between performance and efficiency. Engines will be mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox, seven-speed continuously variable transmission, or, for the first time at Vauxhall, a new nine-speed automatic.
Aerodynamic tweaks to the Astra have brought down drag coefficient to 0.26Cd, making the Astra the most aerodynamic car in its five-door hatch back class. While at 0.25Cd, the Astra Sports Tourer is among the best-in-class.
The aero-benchmarks have been achieved through numerous measures, including an engine compartment cover, deflector-shaped rear axle control arms and a full-face shutter.

Optionally available is an E-Call emergency call function, capable of summoning emergency services with a press of the red button. If the seatbelt tensioners or airbags are deployed, the system automatically makes an emergency call.
Selected models will also get a Bose sound system with seven loudspeakers, including a RichBass subwoofer under the boot, ensure optimum listening pleasure.
