Renowned British racing brand, Lotus, will be making its entry into Singapore and has appointed leading pan-Asian luxury car retailer, Wearnes Automotive Pte Ltd, as the exclusive dealer in Singapore. Wearnes will be undertaking all sales, after-sales, marketing and branding activities for Lotus vehicles in Singapore. The new showroom and workshop will be located at 45 Leng Kee Road, as part of the new eight-storey Automotive Centre.
Commenting on the partnership, Andre Roy, Chief Executive Officer, Wearnes Automotive, said, "Lotus is an iconic British sports car brand with a rich racing heritage. We are honoured to have the opportunity to work with a brand that has produced so many highly desirable and stunning sports cars. We are excited and looking forward to growing the brand's presence in Singapore, especially with the unveiling of the Lotus Evija, the world's first all electric British hypercar."
Based in Hethel, United Kingdom, Lotus was founded in 1948 by Colin Chapman and Colin Dare when Chapman built his first racing car in a garage. Remaining true to the ethos of the founder, Lotus stands alone as a brand dedicated to pure drivers' cars.
The marque had achieved remarkable motor racing success with Team Lotus in Formula One starting with its first Grand Prix win in 1960 in Monaco. By 1994, they had won a total of 79 Grand Prix races with Lotus constructed cars.
Today, Lotus manufactures both sports cars and racing cars dedicated to innovative engineering, cutting-edge technologies and advanced materials. Each Lotus car is built by hand, tested around the famous test track at the factory in Hethel, and achieved their performance through efficient, lightweight construction.
Lotus will be entering the Singapore market with its current lineup of models - the Elise, Exige and Evora. The Elise and the Exige will be on display in the new showroom slated for completion by late August 2019.
