  • The Audi e-tron arrives on our shores

    13 Dec 2019

An electric SUV for sport, family and leisure, the Audi e-tron offers an engaging drive with the spaciousness and comfort of a full-size car.

Audi presented its first fully electric series-production model, the Audi e-tron to the media and customers from Singapore at a dedicated event at the North Island of New Zealand.

The Audi e-tron's electric all-wheel drive proved its worth over the twisting roads of New Zealand
The event saw the SUV demonstrate its balance of sportiness and everyday usability over a variety of road conditions, with its two electric motors together with electric all-wheel drive providing performance and agile handling over New Zealand's roads.

The car's large high-voltage battery lays the foundation for a range of more than 400km based on the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) driving cycle.

The Audi e-tron exemplifies the driving experience of a new technological era. Two electric motors drive the electric SUV, free of emissions, and almost silently, with a system output of up to 355bhp (off boost)  and 664Nm of torque. The maximum drive torque is available within fractions of a second and provides enormous pulling power. The Audi e-tron completes the standard sprint in 5.7 seconds, while top speed is an electronically-limited 200km/h.

The 95kWh gives the e-tron a WLTP tested range of above 400km
A new electric quattro all-wheel drive provides for superlative traction and handling on any terrain and in any weather conditions. It ensures the continuous and fully variable regulation of the ideal distribution of drive torque between the two axles within a fraction of a second.

The dynamic talents of the Audi e-tron proved to be more than sufficient to tackle the mix of road conditions encountered during the event in Auckland.

The large high-voltage battery in the Audi e-tron can store up to 95kWh of energy. The possibility to charge with direct current at up to 150kW is a first for series production automobiles. This means that the Audi e-tron is all set for the next long-distance stretch of a journey in approximately half an hour. The electric SUV can also be recharged with alternating current at up to 11kW, while recharging at a 22kW charger will be available as an option.

The Audi e-tron has arrived at the Audi Centre Singapore and will be making its show debut at the upcoming Singapore Motor Show in January 2020. Priced from $367,500 (as of press time), the Audi e-tron will be delivered to customers in Singapore from December 2019.
