Genesis has revealed the first official images of the GV80, the firm's first three-row SUV, set for launch in 2020 in Korea.

Genesis has revealed the first official images of the GV80, the first SUV for the brand.

Strong body lines along the flanks of the car emphasise its stance and presence
Available as a three-row, the much-anticipated GV80 will become the fourth model in the Genesis lineup, joining the G70, G80 and G90 sedans. The GV80 will be based on a rear-wheel drive platform unique to the Genesis brand, with all-wheel drive available as an option. The 'V' in the GV80 marque represents the versatility only a Genesis SUV can offer.

The first images of the GV80, which will be supplemented in the coming weeks by engineering details, provide a complete picture of the first SUV created by Genesis Design.

The interior and exterior styling of the GV80, a development of the GV80 Concept introduced at the 2017 New York Auto Show, was a collaboration between Genesis Design studios located in South Korea, the U.S.A, and Germany.

The interior of the GV80 is inspired by South Korean architecture and focuses on the beauty of open space
Signature Genesis design elements that are immediately visible on the GV80 include the high-tech Quad Lamps, as well as the Crest Grille which gives the car gravitas consistent with its market positioning. A Parabolic Line that runs smoothly along the side emphasise the car's stance and presence.

The interior of the GV80 focuses on the beauty of open space, characteristic of the elegant South Korean architectural aesthetic. A commanding driving position features in the interior, surrounded by high mounted control surfaces.

Slim air vents stretch across the front and highlight the width of the cabin. The centre console is equipped with a jewel-like, rotating electronic gear selector, providing an exquisite balance of simplicity and glamour.

Set to launch globally in 2020, the GV80 will commence sales in the home market of South Korea in January. More details will be provided closer to launch.
