Japanese version of the Toyota Corolla Cross gets a redesigned grille, new head light graphics, and the Japanese-market Corolla badge.

Toyota has launched a new Corolla Cross for the Japanese market.

The new JDM car is said to combine the spacious interior and outstanding utility of an SUV with powerful performance and superb fuel efficiency.

The front seats of the Corolla Cross offer a high viewpoint, while the rear seats can be reclined, offering high comfort for all
In the cabin, customers can expect superb visibility with ample head clearance, ensuring that passengers in every seat can spend every journey, from urban rides to long drives, in comfort.

The front seats provide a high viewpoint expected of an SUV, while slender front pillars couple with an uncluttered instrument panel for a clear view outward from the cabin.

The rear seats of the Toyota Corolla Cross meanwhile, can also be reclined, promising superb comfort and convenience. A panoramic roof here will also add to the sense of spaciousness and comes with a motorised retractable shade for control over the amount of sunlight entering the vehicle.

The new Corolla Cross also offers some of the best luggage capacity in its class, with 487 litres of space available even when seating five.

A panoramic roof will further add to the sense of spaciousness in the cabin
LEDs are used for all cabin illumination, helping to achieve an interior that is luxurious and sophisticated, but casual at the same time. Sporty front seats here feature slim backs and provide outstanding support.

The Toyota Corolla Cross is built atop the firm's GA-C platform, said to provide nimble and stable steering that belies its tall vehicle height. Sound-absorbing materials have been optimally distributed to reduce engine noise and road chatter, and help improve the comfort and quietness of its cabin.

This Toyota Corolla Cross is being sold in Japan with a 1.8-litre engine with a hybrid variant also available. Those that opt for the hybrid will also be able to get their car with Toyota's E-four-wheel drive system.

As for suspension, MacPherson struts are used for the front on all Corolla Cross grades. The two-wheel drive versions will utilise newly developed torsion beams and large rubber bushings in the rear.

Upgrade to the versions with E-four-wheel drive however, and you'll get a double wishbone setup in the rear.
