Lamborghini has recreated the Countach LP 500 concept.
The original concept was built to showcase Lamborghini's next new model which would replace the Muira, and stole the show when it was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1971.
After three years of development, the original LP 500 was sacrificed in crash tests in March 1974 and then disappeared.
However, at the request of one esteemed collector, Lamborghini and Polo Storico have put in a total of 25,000 hours of work in order to produce this recreation here.
The firm combed through photographs, documents, meeting reports, and original drawings in order to recreate every detail of the Countach LP 500 concept as accurately as possible.
The concept car's platform chassis, different from the tubular one used in the production Countach, was completely rebuilt, while the sheet metal and interior of the concept was also completely hand-built.
Pirelli was also consulted to rebuild the orginal car's Cinturato CN12 tyres for the new recreation.
The new Countach LP 500 concept sports tyres that are the same size and feature the same tread pattern and aesthetics as in the 1970s, but with a modern compound and structure.
