Hyundai has resto-modded this electrifying retro-futuristic Grandeur in celebration of the flagship sedan's 35th anniversary.
The design team at Hyundai reinterpreted the first generation Grandeur as an all-electric car, giving it the Hyundai-iconic Parametric Pixel exterior lighting also seen in the new Ioniq 5, alongside an ultra-modern interior wrapped in burgundy velvet and Nappa leather.
In the cabin of the Heritage Series Grandeur, a bronze-coloured lighting described by Hyundai as being 'reminiscent of period audio equipment' matches a modern audiophile sound system.
The system utilises the composition of Grandeur's center console and dashboard, which are designed based on concert hall acoustic theory, and plays through 18 speakers. Specially developed by South Korean Sound Designer Guk-il Yu the system is said to deliver rich sound with magnificent clarity and deep bass.
The front seats of the Heritage Series Grandeur fitted with burgundy velvet, inspired by the original Grandeur, but with the unexpected twist of elegantly stitched and laced auburn Nappa leather on the back. The center console armrest contains a hidden pop-out compartment for storing valuables like watches.
The dials and buttons on the dashboard have also been replaced with an ultra-wide, touch-enabled flatscreen display. That 80s vibe meanwhile remains thanks to the single-spoke steering wheel and jet airplane-style gear selector.
