Hyundai has revealed the 'Seven', an electric SUV concept at AutoMobility LA Auto Show.

The Seven concept is built upon Hyundai Motor Group's Electric-Global Modular Platform, just like the Kia EV9 Concept.

On the outside, the Seven has what is described by Hyundai as an 'aerodynamically pure' silhouette, with a low leading edge for the car's bonnet and a streamlined roofline. Aiding the Seven's powerful road presence are wheels that feature integrated Active Air Flaps, which deploy or retract depending on brake-cooling or low-drag requirements.

And come night time, the Seven will remain easily identifiable thanks to its Ioniq signature Parametric Pixel lights that deliver a Welcome Light Sequence on startup.

The use of the dedicated electric vehicle platform has allowed Hyundai Motor to explore an alternative to the traditional row-based seat arrangements, creating a more fluid interior layout for the interior of the Seven.

Here, the car gets swivelling lounge chairs and a curved bench seat, allowing the seat arrangement can be customised depending on whether the car is in driver-controlled or autonomous driving modes.

The platform also allows the fitment of pillarless coach doors, for a grand entrance to the welcoming interior.

Here, the Hyundai Seven is equipped with what the firm calls a 'Universal Island' console. Complete with specially designed home appliances and a multi-functional Smart Hub graphic user interface, these allow the Seven to become an environment where users can experience quality time alone or together in the glow of side-door ambient light.

A built-in mini fridge also offers chilled refreshment on the go, while shoe-care compartments will refresh passengers' footwear.

Hyundai states the Seven concept has been engineered to achieve a range of over 480km, while 350kW charging will allow its battery to go from a 10% state-of-charge to 80% in about 20 minutes.
