The update, available on the Polestar Extras web shop as a software download, will give Long range Dual motor models a 67bhp and 20Nm peak torque upgrade.

Polestar has released a performance-oriented software upgrade for the Polestar 2.

The upgrade is eligible for models equipped with the Long range Dual motor in selected European markets, and has already seen enthusiastic pick-up from Polestar 2 owners, with over 400 upgrades downloaded in its first weeks of availability since late November.

The update is available to Long range Dual motor models of the Polestar 2, and brings total output up by 67bhp to 470bhp
Previewed earlier in 2021 in the experimental Polestar 2 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the upgrade adds 67bhp and 20Nm of torque to the already high-output dual-motor powertrain bringing the new totals to 470bhp and 680Nm.

With this upgrade, the zero to 100km/h sprint time has been reduced to 4.4 seconds. The additional power and torque is available as a 'boost' between 70km/h and 130km/h, resulting in even more rapid acceleration in the mid-range.

The upgrade is currently rolling out for customers with eligible cars in the Polestar Extras web shop as a software download that is delivered remotely to their Polestar 2 via an Over-the-Air update.
