Polestar is preparing to launch a call for action among suppliers, entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, universities, researchers, authorities, and consumers at large, to collaborate on the important and ambitious target of create a truly climate neutral car by 2030 without any offsetting.
The firm's automotive veteran of 30 years, Hans Pehrson, is currently at the head of research and development efforts for the project, named 'Polestar 0'.
The project has been split into three stages, with the first stage will addressing research and primarily targeting the CO2e contributors that are currently furthest from technological solutions.
The taskforce is now focusing on establishing collaborations to jointly find technical sources of CO2e in the entire supply chain, with each step being evaluated based on whether solutions are readily available or research is needed.
